Whispers in the Dark is the 4th book in the KGI Series.
If you've been reading the whole series, you know that this series is about the Kelly family.
They're all some sort of military and have joined together to form the group, the KGI teams.
This is Nathan's story.
And this is Shea's story.
Both, together make a very touching and endearing story.
If you've ever read a story that has completely stayed with you long after you've finished, this is one of those stories. It's touching. It's moving. It makes you want to cry.
At the end of book 3, Nathan was captured. He was being tortured and starved. And he doesn't know how he is going to get out. He's loosing hope of being found by his brothers.
That is until he hears her. Shea is her name and she is an angel.
Or that's what Nathan thinks at first.
She's a voice in his head that would talk to him and help him to endure the endless pain. She also took the pain from him.
She helps him to escape along with his buddy Swanny (his story is told in book 9).
But he's lost. Even though he at home with his family, he's still lost.
That is until he hears her voice again.
And this time he won't stop until he finds her.
What follows is a tender story about the deep connection that we can have with another person.
Nathan rescues Shea. He finds out that there are two groups of people trying to capture both Shea and her sister Grace (her story is book 5).
Nathan steps in to help her and to show her that he actually really loves her. But he also helps her to fight these guys that she's been running from.
It really is a tender story how they connect. Because they could speak telepathically, their connection was so much deeper.
The author does get quite detailed in the love scenes. The scenes don't overpower the plot line and they are not in full detail every time.
There's tons more that happens in this story that you have to read. It's well written. Has well developed characters. I really enjoyed this one.
